G&B Integrative Psychiatry helps with insomnia and sleep problems in Honolulu (Nuʻuanu) and by telehealth across Hawaiʻi with Kimberly Gibu, DNP, PMHNP-BC. Sleep is treated as part of whole-person care, in English or Tagalog.
What it can feel like
Sleep problems can mean trouble falling asleep, waking through the night, waking too early, or sleep that never feels restful — and then dragging through the day. Sleep and mental health are closely linked: stress, anxiety, and low mood can disrupt sleep, and poor sleep can deepen them. Only an evaluation can tell what’s driving yours.
Who it’s for
- People who lie awake or wake repeatedly most nights
- Those whose sleep is tangled up with stress, worry, or low mood
- Anyone whose daytime life suffers from poor sleep
- People who want to address sleep without jumping straight to medication
What to expect
The first visit is a 60-minute evaluation that looks at your sleep, your routines, and anything affecting them. We build a plan together and adjust it over follow-up visits, in person or by video.
How G&B approaches it
Care focuses first on the habits and patterns that shape sleep, alongside treating any anxiety, stress, or mood that’s involved, often with psychotherapy. Medication options are discussed after a full evaluation. The aim is sleep that restores you, not just a quick fix.

Common questions
Is my sleep problem “real” if there’s no medical cause?
Yes. Sleep that regularly leaves you exhausted is worth addressing, whatever the cause.
Do you only prescribe something to help me sleep?
No. Care starts with the patterns and stressors behind poor sleep; medication options are discussed after a full evaluation.
Can this be done by telehealth?
Yes, for patients located in Hawaiʻi at the time of the visit.
Could my sleep problem be part of something else?
Sometimes. An evaluation can help tell whether anxiety, stress, or mood is part of the picture.
