Psychiatric Medication Management in Honolulu & Across Hawaiʻi

Careful, evidence-based prescribing and ongoing monitoring — adjusted around how you actually feel.

G&B Integrative Psychiatry provides psychiatric medication management in Honolulu (Nuʻuanu) and by telehealth anywhere in Hawaiʻi, with Kimberly Gibu, DNP, PMHNP-BC. Follow-up visits are focused, unhurried, and built around your response to treatment.

Who it’s for

What to expect

Medication-management follow-ups are typically 30 minutes ($175 self-pay); a combined medication-and-therapy visit runs 60 minutes ($250). We review how you’re doing, weigh benefits and side effects, and adjust thoughtfully — never by a formula. Refills and monitoring are handled as part of ongoing care.

Medications are discussed only after a full evaluation, and options are chosen with you. We make no promise that any particular medication will be prescribed; that’s a clinical decision made together, based on your history and goals.

How G&B approaches it

At G&B, prescribing sits inside whole-person care, and psychotherapy can be woven in. “Integrative” means combining medication and therapy with attention to sleep, stress and daily life. It does not mean supplements or functional-medicine testing. If a medication needs routine lab monitoring, we’ll explain why and how it’s arranged.

Insurance & fees

Self-pay fees are listed on the Fees page. Self-pay, Medicare, Optum/UHC and Med-QUEST book directly with G&B; HMSA, Cigna, Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health and Curative book through Headway. See Insurance & How to Book. Coverage depends on your specific plan — please check your benefits with your insurer.

Common questions

Can a PMHNP prescribe psychiatric medication in Hawaiʻi?

Yes. Board-certified PMHNPs with Hawaiʻi prescriptive authority evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe, and practice independently.

How often are follow-ups?

That depends on your plan of care — more often while starting or adjusting, then spaced out as things stabilize.

What medications might be prescribed?

Medication options are discussed after a full evaluation, and any plan is decided together based on your history and goals. We make no promise that a particular medication will be prescribed.

Can I do medication visits by video?

Yes, for patients located in Hawaiʻi at the time of the visit.

What does it cost?

See the Fees page; many plans are also accepted — see Insurance.
