G&B Integrative Psychiatry offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations in Honolulu (Nuʻuanu) and by telehealth anywhere in Hawaiʻi. Your evaluation is a full 60-minute visit with Kimberly Gibu, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, in English or Tagalog.
Who it’s for
- Anyone new to psychiatric care who wants a clear picture and a plan
- People wondering whether medication, therapy, or both might help
- Those seeking a diagnostic clarification or a second opinion
- Children (ages 3+), teens, adults, and older adults (kūpuna)
What to expect
The initial psychiatric evaluation is a 60-minute visit ($275 self-pay). We take the time to understand your history, your current concerns, and your goals. There is no rush to a diagnosis; we start building the picture and the plan together, and you’ll leave understanding the options and the reasoning behind them.
What to bring: a list of any medications and supplements you currently take, any past records that are easy to gather, and the questions on your mind.
How G&B approaches it
At G&B, “integrative” means medication management plus psychotherapy, with attention to sleep, stress, and lifestyle. After your evaluation, care can continue with medication-management follow-ups, therapy, or both — whatever fits you.

Common questions
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. You can book an evaluation directly.
Is a psychiatric nurse practitioner the same as a psychiatrist?
No. A psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) evaluates, diagnoses and prescribes for mental health conditions. In Hawaiʻi, PMHNPs with prescriptive authority practice independently.
How long is the evaluation?
A full 60 minutes, so there’s time to understand your history and goals.
Can a nurse practitioner diagnose and prescribe in Hawaiʻi?
Yes. As a board-certified PMHNP with Hawaiʻi prescriptive authority, Kimberly evaluates, diagnoses, and prescribes; Hawaiʻi grants APRNs full practice authority.
Is the evaluation available by telehealth?
Yes, by secure video for patients physically located in Hawaiʻi at the time of the visit.
Do you take insurance?
Several plans are accepted. See the Insurance page for how to book with yours.
