Anxiety Treatment in Honolulu & Across Hawaiʻi

Support for anxiety that gets in the way of your life — in person in Nuʻuanu or by secure video anywhere in Hawaiʻi.

G&B Integrative Psychiatry treats anxiety in Honolulu (Nuʻuanu) and by telehealth across Hawaiʻi with Kimberly Gibu, DNP, PMHNP-BC. Care blends psychotherapy and, when appropriate, medication — built around you, in English or Tagalog.

What it can feel like

Anxiety often shows up as worry that’s hard to switch off, a keyed-up or on-edge feeling, trouble sleeping, or tension you carry in your body. Some anxiety is a normal part of life. What matters is whether it’s steering your decisions or wearing you down — and only an evaluation can tell whether what you’re experiencing is an anxiety disorder.

Who it’s for

What to expect

Your first visit is a 60-minute evaluation. We take time to understand your history and what you want to be different, then build a plan together. Ongoing care continues in follow-up visits, in person or by video, at a pace that fits you.

How G&B approaches it

Anxiety is treatable. At G&B, that usually means psychotherapy — often cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and sometimes behavioral activation, problem-solving therapy, or interpersonal therapy — with attention to sleep, stress, and daily life. Medication options are discussed after a full evaluation. Many people do well with therapy alone, and some do best with therapy and medication together.

Insurance & fees

Self-pay fees are listed on the Fees page. Self-pay, Medicare, Optum/UHC and Med-QUEST book directly with G&B; HMSA, Cigna, Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health and Curative book through Headway. See Insurance & How to Book. Coverage depends on your specific plan — please check your benefits with your insurer.

Common questions

Is my anxiety “bad enough” to get help?

If anxiety is affecting your sleep, work, or relationships, that’s reason enough to reach out. You don’t have to be at a breaking point.

Do I have to take medication?

No. Therapy can be your whole plan. If medication might help, the options are discussed after a full evaluation, and the choice is yours.

Can anxiety be treated by telehealth?

Yes, by secure video for patients located in Hawaiʻi at the time of the visit.

How soon will I feel better?

That varies from person to person, so no timeline is promised — but many people feel some relief once a plan is in place.
